Jio has brought several changes in its plans in the past few months. The company entered the telecom space in 2016 claiming to offer “truly free” voice calls and data services which it did also for some time. However, it changed after the company started charging users at 6 paise per minute for calls made from Jio to other networks. The plans’ prices changed, data benefits changed and now there are chances that the company could change the offerings under JioFiber connection too.

According to a TelecomTalk report, few of the Twitter users have written on Twitter that Jio has started capping the upload speeds for JioFiber plans. The company is said to have capped the upload speeds of JioFiber at one-tenth of download speeds. So say your JioFiber plan comes with download speeds of 100Mbps, then according to the report, your upload speed will be only 10Mbps which is very poor. If your download speeds is 1Gbps then your upload speeds will be only 100Mbps.

Jio recently also started billing its JioFiber customers. People who were using the JioFiber connection for free under the JioFiber Preview offer are now being asked to choose a home broadband plan. According to an ET report, users in metro cities are now being charged based on the JioFiber plan they choose. The new billing system should be available across the country in the next few weeks. Jio is said to complete this process of bringing its free broadband users under the new billing system in a phased manner over a month.Read More..
