A few weeks after the updated iOS app from WhatsApp brought the call waiting feature to the iPhone users, the call waiting feature is now available to Android users. As the name suggests, the feature now allows users to see incoming WhatsApp calls even if they are already on a call. The feature is available through WhatsApp version 2.19.352, which is the latest stable version of the app in the Google Play store.
If you have updated WhatsApp in the last few days or so, you will already have this feature. If not, you can update the app now.
While the name of the feature is call waiting, it is slightly different from how call waiting works with cellular calls. Unlike on a phone call where you can put people on hold, and in a way can simultaneously talk to two people by switching between calls, on WhatsApp you will have to be active on only one call. So what the call waiting feature on WhatsApp does is this:
— If you are already on a WhatsApp call, you will be able to see if there is a new call coming on your WhatsApp number.
— Once you see this call, you will get option to either accept it or reject it. You will not be able to put it on hold, or put on hold the call that you are already attending to.
— In other words, you have to prioritise and make a choice. You want to continue with your old call, or want to disconnect and take the new call.Read More..
